Quartz Glass

DEFINITION
Quartz glass is a glass consisting of almost pure silica (silicon dioxide, SiO2, above 99.9%), produced by melting high-purity silica sand at high temperature (2,000℃ or higher)

Characteristics
Thermal Shock Resistance
   - Quartz glass has a high melting point and extremely low coefficient of thermal expansion

Wide Transparency Range
   - Quartz glass has a wide transparency range which can extend well into the ultraviolet and into the infrared as well as visible ray

Quartz glass has a high physical strength.

Chemical Inertness
Quartz glass is chemically inert to most element including virtually all acids,
    regardless of concentration, except alkali.

- Application Products
UVC light guide rods, Lenses, Projection masks in the semiconductor industry, Semiconductor fabrication furnace etc.
